As promised…
Hello,
We hope everyone had a nice weekend. It was particularly nice here in River Falls. The weather was fabulous. We had some family in town and it was River Falls Days so we had a chance to get out of the house a little bit. However the preparations at home didn’t pause for very long. Angela is hard at work as I’m typing this out.
River Falls Days is similar to most small community summer festivals. There’s a parade, a tractor pull, a carnival, and a variety of other things. I’m sure that I just did a huge disservice to the greater RF community with my brief and poor description of how wonderful the event really is. I apologize. On Friday night, we went to the parade, or at least some of it. We got there a little early so we listened to a band in front of our church (Ezekiel Lutheran). Meredith had a ball.

On Saturday morning, Angela left the house early to go in and spend some time with the kids. She got to hold most of them while I stayed back at the house with Meredith. Meredith and I did a ton of work around the house. Around lunch time our guests arrived. Grandma (Angela’s mother), Great G-pa (Angela’s maternal grandfather), and Morgan and Katie (Angela’s sisters) all made the trip up north. I did a little grilling for lunch and then we made the trek into the city so that they could all take a peek at the kids. The kids are all doing awesome. They’re conditions are just like how you want an airline flight to go, unremarkable. Here’s the run down. Sorry, I didn’t get the pictures that I promised. We’ll try to get new ones tomorrow.
Brooklyn is doing very well since her little episode last weekend. She’s doing well on her feedings and breathing like a normal baby. She weighed in today at 3 lbs, 6 oz.
Lauren is the newest member to the 3 pound club as she weighed in today at 3 pounds even. Like Brook, she’s breathing w/o any assistance and doing great.
Alex is the biggest of the group. He weighed in at 3 lbs, 9.5 oz. Even when he’s just in his diaper, I know it’s him as he has the darkest hair out of anyone in the group. Alex still wears a nasal canula, but is doing fine.
What can I say about Emma? She’s so much bigger now compared to when she was born. They’re all filling out so much. The quantity might not seem like much at all, but we’re talking about gaining 30-40% of their body weight in a few weeks. Emma is up to 2 lbs, 10 oz. She is also on a nasal canula, but doing very well otherwise.
Madeline will complete our little update on the kids. By percentage, she has grown the most. She’s gonna be fighting Alex for the heaviest pretty soon. Today she checked in at 3 lbs, 7 oz. Outside her canula, she’s just great.
Like I said, there isn’t much to report. There’s a lot of chatter about moving them to the Special Care Nursery back over at ANW, but the unit is full, so they’re gonna stay in the NICU until space becomes available.
To close out our nice weekend, we had a wonderful dinner on Saturday night. Meredith called it a night a little early as she didn’t get a nap. She was a bit owlly by the time 8:00 rolled around. I made a big breakfast for everyone this morning and then Angela and I took off for church. Angela’s family left shortly after lunch and we had a nice afternoon at home. During Meredith’s afternoon nap, Angela took a well deserved nap at the same time and I went out to the garage to sort through our many recent acquisitions. We picked up several things this week, hence a change to our needs list. Please note the changes. If you’re looking around for things on our behalf (I know you garage sale shoppers are out there); please, please, please take note of the changes to our list and get a hold of us if you have questions as to our specific needs.
Additionally, if you’re from the River Falls community and reading this, please stay tuned as there will be some changes to the website soon to announce upcoming plans and organization for volunteers.
Until next time…
