Tille Family

I guess we’re popular…or at least the numbers say so.

I know a lot of people read this blog pretty regularly, but I guess I didn’t really get how committed people are to it. I guess I should…I’ve seen the numbers. I had my computer guys help me with a report to see if I’m just writing this all for myself or if people are really looking at it. Thanks Matt! I was a bit surprised how many people are following us. It’s kind of embarrassing but now I feel a sense of pressure to “perform.” I’m kidding and no urology jokes please. As of July 15, we had nearly 200,000 hits to our site (just in July) with an average of 13,000 a day and 545 per hour. Although its spread out pretty well throughout the day, I know that the time of the day with the most traffic on our little family website is when people get to work during the 8 am hour. Shame on you!!! Get back to work. Hits have come from all over the world. Not kidding. So I guess I shouldn’t be blown away by the number of people that I’ve seen or talked to this week that have asked me about when I’m gonna put up another post (or more importantly) add some more pictures of the kids to the site. Here’s the post, but I’m sorry that I don’t have any new pictures. I’ll address my lack of pictures shortly, but I want to get to some of our updates on the kids from the week. So, as usual, I’ll go around the room.

Brooklyn has had a good week. She continues to do well with her breathing. No assistance needed. Her feedings are going well. She’s (like all of them) still on the feeding tube and getting a little more than an ounce every 3 hours. She weighed in today at 4 lbs., 3 oz. The big deal for Brooklyn is that she was transferred to a new isolet this week where the top can be raised so that she’s in room air. This is a big step because it tells us that she can maintain her body heat.

Lauren is next in the room. Like Brooklyn, her breathing and feedings are going extremely well. She isn’t quite as heavy, but growing none the less. She weighed in today at 3 lbs., 14 oz. You’ll see a trend in a minute, but Lauren was also moved in to a new isolet and her top has been raised up.

Alex is doing awesome! I’ve affectionately started calling him Duce. Angela doesn’t necessarily like it, but has been tolerating it so far. I’m not sure how long my name calling will last. She feels the same way about me calling him “fatty” this week. Before you all fly off the handle, please know that this kid is packing it on. Alex weighed in today at 4 lbs., 9 oz. See what I mean about the “fatty” thing? Alex is still wearing a canula for his breathing, but doing very well. Alex is not in an isolet as they moved him to a crib. Holy crap, we’re gonna have babies home sooner than later!

Since the day she was born, Emma has been the smallest. That’s no different today. Emma weighed in today at 3 lbs., 4 oz. Your first reaction may be, “it sure doesn’t seem like she’s doing quite as well as the others.” However, when you consider total weight gain, she’s doing just as well as all of the others. Emma is still in her isolet with the top down and on a canula for her breathing, but doing extremely well otherwise. Her feedings are going well and she’s eating nearly as much per feeding as the others even though she’s so much smaller.

Madeline is the 5th spot in the room. The room is set up horseshoe style and it starts from left to right. She is still on her canula for breathing, but its set at the lowest setting. Like the others, she is eating very well. She weighed in today at 4 lbs., 5.5 oz. So if you look at all the weights, you’ll see that we have three, 4 pounders. Sounds kind of like a fishing reference, doesn’t it?

I just spent the past 30 minutes writing this long song and dance about why we don’t have updated photos. After reading it over, I decided that my story and attempt at humor sucked so I deleted it. We don’t have pictures because we haven’t brought the camera along this week. Not on purpose; just forgot. Ever forget something, we did? Frankly, I haven’t seen the kids much lately since I’ve been back to work. Angela goes in every day, but I’ve only been there long enough to hold the kids just once in the past two weeks. We’ll get something taken over the weekend.

It’s like old times tonight as I’m home alone with Meredith tonight. After dinner, Angela took off for the city as she’s staying overnight at the hospital tonight with the kids. After dinner, I gave Meredith her bath, played for a while, got her to bed, finished the dishes, and started typing while watching the Twins. I am terribly inefficient when the game is on in the background. However, I’m happy because I get to sprawl out in my bed again. Yea. I’m taking Friday off from work. I’ll be painting the new baby room. These kids are coming home sooner than later and its scaring the hell out of me!

Travel safely Klett family. Looking forward to seeing you guys this weekend!!! Alex, get ready. Coach Klett is coming. I hope he’s nicer to you than he is to me. Can’t wait guys.

Until next time…
