Moving Day

Yesterday was moving day for the Tille Family, or at least for some of the kids. I got a phone call on Monday morning from the neonatologist on call at Children’s. He just wanted to advise me that they had room at Abbott Northwestern in the Special Care Nursery for 3 of the kids and the other two would follow in the next day or two. This nursery is the next step in process to get the kids discharged and finally home. Basically, the kids are all stable now and they just need to learn to eat from a bottle and fatten up. Once they can display that they can eat full meals w/o complication and breathe w/o complication while in a car seat, they’ll be on the way home. They will start the bottle feeding tomorrow morning while Angela is there. It’s late as I type this after a very long day so this is gonna be a quick post. I’ll try to have a better update after we hear how our first day with a bottle goes.

So who went over…Brooklyn, Lauren and Alex made the trip through the tunnel. Emma and Madeline stayed behind. Emma and Madeline had been a little behind on their breathing compared to the other 3 so they were the ones chosen to stay back. However, they’re doing very well. Emma and Madeline had their canulas removed today and did very well. That’s right; all five of them are w/o any oxygen assistance. It’s truly been a great week for their development. We expect that all of them will be together by end of the week.

The move and the removal of the canulas were very big steps and I don’t mean to underscore it by the short post, it’s just been very busy this week. I’ll have more detail later this week.

Until then…
