Thanksgiving
We have a lot to be thankful for! Every night as I lay my head down, I say a serenity prayer and I thank the good lord for our volunteers. This collection of wonderful people has changed my life. When the time is right, the Tille’s WILL give back to our community. I might be a bit off on the numbers, but I think that we have about 150 people on our list of volunteers. Nearly 75 of them come in to our home every week (multiple times a week). When we go to bed, there are people here. When I get up in the middle of the night to give Meredith a binki, there are 3 new people. When I wake up, there’s more new people. When I leave for work, there are more 3 new people. When I call home during the day to check in, there’s new people then too. When I come home…more new people. Over the weekend…well, you get the picture. These people see our very best and worst (which usually involves me being a smart ass and/or inconsiderate). You guys are the glue. Thank you so much for being a part of our lives.
Talking about being thankful; we have 6 healthy children! That’s all we’ve ever wanted. I have no idea how we would make it through the day if we had special needs that we had to take in to consideration. The quints are also doing great! They’re getting so big. Their 5 months old now and just like regular babies. Emma is still the smallest, but weighs in around 11 ½ pounds. Alex is still the heaviest and weighs in around 14 ½ pounds. We’re still on a pretty strict feeding and sleeping schedule, but I see that changing in the coming weeks. If you’re a regular reader, you know that Meredith is now two years old and doing great. We have our moments, but what parents of a two year old don’t. She’s gonna have such a huge role in our family.
We’re so thankful for our supportive families. I frankly have lost count of the number of times that they have made long road trips to be here with us for our soap opera lives. Making that trip isn’t easy and we don’t take that for granted. It is a 4 ½ hour drive one way. We know that the time and expense has been large. Thank you all so much for your never ending support!
Now that I read this post back to myself, the key theme that I take away is “people.” We have been blessed by “people.” Thank you all so much for spending time with us and please, please, please thank your families for us.
Have a wonderful and safe holiday season!
Until next time…
Well, so many of us are also thankful for you and Angela. Many of us sit here at our computers, far away and close by and pray for your continued strength and for the wonderful work you are doing as parents of 6 children. Being a parent is by far the toughest job I have and I thank you for all the work and effort you are both doing to raise healthy, happy children! We also thank you for letting us be a part of that through your blog. You are both admired and many of us are thankful for you in our lives! See you soon!
Thanks so much, Eberts. Really looking forward to the weekend and seeing you guys!
